Employees may be reimbursed from their When Benefit for health insurance premiums that occur after their job loss. In order for a request to be eligible for reimbursement, the following conditions must be met:
- Reimbursement requests must be for health insurance premiums for medical, dental, or vision insurance.
- Premiums for life, AD&D, disability, and other ancillary insurance policies are not reimbursable by the When Benefit.
- The employee must be the primary account holder on the insurance policy.
- The When Benefit may cover premiums for dependents, so long as the employee is the primary policy holder.
- The coverage period for the reimbursement request must occur after the employee’s termination date.
- The When Benefit does not reimburse health insurance premium costs for COBRA continuation coverage unless specifically stated by the employer in a severance agreement.*
*This exclusion does not prevent an employee from selecting COBRA continuation coverage.
